Thinking about my "Why"
I’m excited to be heading to the PMI Global Summit this week. I’ll be speaking about using the R.E.A.D.Y. framework to deliver successful projects using organizational change tools and techniques. My goal is to give Project, Human Resource and Change professionals additional ideas and tools to assist their organizations and stakeholders in adopting change. Though I speak several times a month for various conferences and organizations, I must admit I’m a bit nervous for this event. Not because I don’t like to be on a big stage (I Love It!), but because it so important to me to share the READY framework with project management professionals.
When I first started working on initiatives that were either technical projects or restructuring projects, the lack of a common language and understanding between the project team and those who were focused on stakeholder adoption was an obstacle. To close this gap, I became an excellent project manager and could create a WBS with the best project managers around. I earned my PMP and spoke the same jargon as other project professionals. It wasn’t enough – so I began development of the READY framework and am passionate about the promise of this common approach to lead change.
I can’t wait to share how to successfully achieve stakeholder adoption. If you’re attending the PMI Global Summit in Las Vegas, let me know! It would be fantastic to meet in person. If you’re not attending – no worries! I’ll keep you posted on the new ideas I hear, and I’ll share the best of the best with you. My purpose is clear. I’d love your positive thoughts as I share ideas, provide guidance, and educate at the PMI Summit about how to make organizational change simpler, more successful, and help people get R.E.A.D.Y. for change.
